The step drill is made of HSS (high-speed steel) and coated with TiN (titanium). It lasts a very long time when coolant is used. Visible and durable hole diameter markings are provided thanks to laser markings on the drill's two spiral flutes. Furthermore, the three-point shank prevents the drill from spinning in the chuck and also allows for greater torque transmission to the drill tip.
